Going Home
That day is still in my mind like it was yesterday. The sun shone bright, the air was crystal clear and clean. It seemed that nothing in Heaven or on earth could be as perfect as it was at that moment. After years of wandering and falling, His love finally broke through the darkness of my heart. Once and for all, I gave up trying to do it on my own and yielded my life completely to Him.

Like the prodigal son, I too knew the desperation, hopelessness, and despair that is the result of being lost and unable to find my way back home.

The journey back is sometimes the hardest one to make, but nothing feels better than going home. No words can adequately describe the peace and joy which fills your heart when, at long last, you look into the face of the One whom you once despised and realize that life is not worth living without Him.

Have you wandered far away? Are you ready to give up? If so, I would ask you to look up instead. On that perfect day in the waters of baptism, I left behind a life of ruin, emptiness and despair. Now by His grace, the chains of sin no longer hold me in their power and I never want to turn away again.

"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" (John 1:12) This new life is promised to you too, if you will only come home.
