To truly understand what truth is, we must examine what the Bible says regarding truth. Then, as the knowledge of truth is revealed through God's Word, we need to pray for wisdom and ability to apply its principles into our lives.

1) Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you. 1 Samuel 12:24

(God does many wonderful things for us every day. He only asks that, in return, we show our love for Him by keeping His Word.)

2) ...he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth. Psalm 96:13

(God is righteous and just. It is by the truth found in His Word that He will judge each one.)

3) Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth. Thou art near, O LORD; and all thy commandments are truth. Psalm 119:142, 151

(All truth comes from God and is revealed to us through studying and following His Word.)

(When we ask and seek Him, God will be there for us when we need Him.)

(We can easily see that many today love sin and have no desire for doing what is right.)

6) ...This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the LORD their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth. Jeremiah 7:28

(The majority of the world today is in rebellion and refuses to obey God’s Word.)

7) ...all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the LORD our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand thy truth. Daniel 9:13

(If God chooses to reprove or correct us, we should see this as a warning given in love and turn from our sins so He can save us.)

8) And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:32

(Only by having a relationship with Jesus can we know what real truth is and be set free from sin.)

9) ...when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: John 16:13

(The Holy Spirit is our only safe and true Guide.)

10) Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. John 17:17

(It is by studying God’s Word that we are changed into His likeness.)

11) For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Romans 1:18

(Sadly, someday God will have to destroy those who have no regard for doing right, loving others, or obeying Him.)

(If we distort the true meaning of God’s Word, we are making idols of ourselves and worshiping our own opinions.)

(God’s loyal followers are hated and despised by those who do not love God or obey the truth.)

14) For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth. Ephesians 5:9

(We know that we are one of God’s disciples if we have a love for the truth.)

15) That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Thessalonians 2:12

(Those who refuse to follow God will be deceived into thinking they are doing right, when actually they are doing what God’s Word forbids.)

(Unless we are willing to do what is right, we will never fully know what truth is.)

(If we refuse to follow truth once it has been revealed to us, we will be deceived and, ultimately, lost in our delusions.)

(If, after we have learned what truth is, we then decide to turn away from it, we will be lost, unless we return to God.)

(God’s greatest desire is to see you come to the truth and walk according to His will. He loves you and is calling you to come to Him today.)
